As a part time resident of the Grand Bahamas, Michael found himself in the immediate aftermath of the 2016 storms that devastated the Islands. Having found so much inspiration over the years from the native forests, he was heartbroken to see the once lush landscape stripped bare. As he joined in on the relief effort for the island he began to notice one tree that seemed to have survived the storm. The Lignum Vitae tree has the densest wood in the world which earned it the name Wood of Life. The National tree of the Bahamas, it remained a constant after the storm with its purple flowers displayed like a beacon of hope.

Materials: The Wood of Life earrings are cast in hand patinated bronze, accented with cast glas purple flowers with matte gold pollen stems and antique copper flower buds. The wires are 925 silver.
